Equitas Health is preparing to launch a new program for people who self-identify as transgender, nonbinary, genderqueer, or gender non-conforming.

The purpose of this new initiative is to implement a comprehensive HIV prevention program in central Ohio for Transgender/Gender Non-Conforming/Non-Binary/Genderqueer people of color who are 13 to 29 years of age. Equitas Health will serve 18 to 29 year olds, Nationwide Children’s Hospital (FACES and THRIVE) will serve 13 to 18 year olds. The goal of this new program will be to decrease morbidity, mortality, and health disparities by providing HIV testing, linkage to medical treatment for HIV-positive individuals, linkage to PrEP/PEP for HIV-negative persons at high risk for HIV, linkage to essential support services to promote health and wellness, and the high impact prevention program PROMISE.

CURRENT PROGRAM OPEN POSITIONS: (Click here to view a pdf of these listings)

  • PROGRAM MANAGER: The Program Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the program, supervising program staff, and managing grant implementation.
  • OUTREACH COORDINATOR: The Outreach Coordinator is responsible for coordinating a program within the community and working with peer advocates to reach program goals. The individual holding this position will implement a community level intervention to focus on HIV prevention.
  • ENGAGEMENT SPECIALIST: The Engagement Specialist is responsible for HIV Testing, linkage to care and patient navigation for people newly diagnosed with HIV and/or re-linkage for those who are not receiving medical treatment. The individual holding this position is responsible for ensuring that people living with HIV are able to access care and maintain that care into the future.
  • PROGRAM SUPPORT SPECIALIST: The Program Support Specialist is responsible for general office duties and support of a designated program within the organization.
